Kelsey's Gameroom
| I started out with a completely unfinished basement and in 3 weeks I installed the wiring, walls, paint, etc. Unfortunately, my house only has a 1/2 basement, the main living room sits over a crawlspace so the footprint for my gameroom was smaller that I would have liked. And about half of that space needed to be dedicated to the laundry/furnace room because of where the existing utilities were located. I think I made the best of what I had to work with. |
| The gameroom is basically L-shaped with the video games lined up along the narrow leg of the room. Below is a simple floorplan with overall dimensions. (click for PDF) |

The mini-cab is a 1/3 scale version of the Gottlieb Q*Bert/Mad Planets style
cabinet
running MAME with a 13" vertical monitor for the kids.

Paint colors are Home Depot Disney colors.
Star Command Blue and The Queens Robes (purple) on the walls.

Had to sell off my Centipede, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac, and Time Pilot to make room for
the pins and dart machine.
I don't regret the trade-off. :)

I just sprayed the ceiling (floor joists) with flat black paint to make the
wiring & ducts blend in,
sort of an industrial look. All my lighting also points from the
ceiling towards the walls for indirect
lighting that won't cause reflections on the vid's bezel glasses or pin's
playfield glasses.

TV's coming out, just had nowhere else to put it right now.

Fish are also taking a hike. Probably end up in my daughter's room. Heh...

I have Clay's Williams multigame installed on a set of Joust boards in the
Sinistar Cabinet.
